<br />
<i><span style="color: #674ea7;">The reenactment season is slowly comming to an end, so it's time for a small sale. The following stuff is currently still waiting for it's happy owner:</span></i><br />
<br />
1. Sakiewka z Belgii.<br />
Szczegółowo pisałyśmy o niej w jednym z pierwszych postów. Całość wykonana ręcznie, haft nicią 100% jedwabiu na lnie 100%, wzór na podstawie znaleziska z belgijskiego kościoła. Kolory: granatowy, jasnoszaro-srebrny, fiolet.<br />
<br />
<i><span style="color: #674ea7;">1. Belgian pouche.</span></i><br />
<i><span style="color: #674ea7;">One of early notes was dedicated to it. It's completely handmade (hand-stitched and hand-sewn), thread is of 100% natural silk, background and lining is of 100% linen. It's based on a pouch found during excavations in a belgian church. Colours: very dark blue, light grey - silver, violet.</span></i><br />

</div><div><i><span style="color: #674ea7;">Perhaps we will also start sewing "kruselers" (a.k.a. "goffered veils"). So far we've made two prototypes: simple version - just a basic rectangular veil with pleated "goffers" on one edge and a more elaborate "courtly" version - in semicircle shape with all the edges richly decorated with pleated "gofferes" and fitted to the neck-shoulders line. However the kruseler seems to be "just" a veil, yet it takes long and painful hours to make and consumes as much fabric as a gown. But the prices of kruselers availible "at the market" are so high that it would be a shame not to try to compete ;).</span></i></div><div><i><span style="color: #674ea7;">Photos are comming soon.</span></i></div>Hafciarkihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08693168176700973578noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7343260087318977000.post-66773790304033991652012-04-11T06:14:00.011-07:002012-04-11T07:17:19.328-07:00Niemiecki haft bloczkowy... na pikniku / German block embroidery... on a picnic<div style="font-size: 100%; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; line-height: normal; text-align: justify; "><span style="font-size: 100%; text-align: left; ">A właściwie podczas treningu w historykach, jaki z grupą znajomych urządziliśmy sobie w jeden z ciepłych, wiosennych dni.</span></div><div style="text-align: justify; font-size: 100%; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; line-height: normal; "><span><br /></span></div><div style="text-align: justify; font-size: 100%; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; line-height: normal; "><span >Or rather during training we've made with a group of friends in period clothing using one of warm, sunny spring days.</span></div><div style="text-align: justify; font-size: 100%; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; line-height: normal; "><span><br /></span></div><div style="text-align: justify; font-size: 100%; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; line-height: normal; "><span>Haft stanie się oczywiście sakiewką, a datowany jest na XIV/XV wiek.
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">I'm finishing off a pouch based on a large German purse (or rather a bag ;) ). It's currently being exhibited in Victoria & Albert Museum in London. It's completely embroidered with silk threads in brick stitch. I altered the colors a bit from the original piece. I used blue instead of white (it gets grey far too early) and dark green instead of dark yellow so that it doesn't melt with yellow of the "frames".</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;"><br />

<br /></div><div>It's been so long since Tannenberg, yet I still can't get over it and get used to living in the 21st century again. I keep remembering those moments and watching those photos and enjoying my booty. And what kind of booty one can bring from Tannenberg these days? All sorts of pieces of reenactment arts and crafts, from the smallest ones as spoons and dices to furniture and tents. Of course I brought mostly the stuff needed for medieval needleworks... Or the stuff I simply liked and somehow it fits into the medieval embroideress'es and seamstress'es workshop.</div><div>
<br /></div><div>

<br /></span></div><div>Czyli...
<br /></div><div>Here it goes...</div><div>A lovely and very well made bronze needlecase. Perhaps it wasn't the most practical purchase, yet I've been looking for a nice needlecase for a long time and couldn't find anything decent. </div><div>
<br /></div><div>Of course, that's not all I brought from Tannenberg. There is also some wooden stuff, a bunch of photos, a lot of memories and a list of dreams and plans...</div><div>And there is yet one another thing, very important and beautiful one, although it's completely unexpected and unspeakable. Something that lasts and makes Tannenberg last for me, makes me smile all the time and makes the time to run in a completely different way it used to. </div>Ziółkohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12449364868999202254noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7343260087318977000.post-43169706792198532792011-07-20T02:13:00.000-07:002011-09-13T04:24:13.321-07:00Po Grunwaldzie / After Tannenberg<div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div>Ktoś ;) powiedział mi, że w ruchu rycerskim są dwie pory roku: przed Grunwaldem i po Grunwaldzie. Ja zdecydowanie wolę tę "przed", kiedy, owszem, trzeba czekać, ale czas płynie szybko i miło na przygotowaniach do Grunwu. Czas "po" dłuży się strasznie. Tęskni się za poznanymi/spotkanymi ponownie ludźmi, za tą atmosferą i klimatem, a czekać trzeba jeszcze tak strasznie długo.<br /><div>Na pociechę więc trochę fotek.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div>Someone told me there are two seasons in the Polish reenactment: before Tannenberg and after Tannenberg. I must say I prefer the one "before", when one has to wait, but it's a pleasurable waiting and time pasts quickly on preparing for Tannenberg. Time "after" lasts terribly long. One misses the people he or she met and misses the atmosphere and it's still such a long time to wait.</div><div>So, a couple of photos to cheer up.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br Pomysł, by takową poduszkę zrobić i wypchać samodzielnie zakrawa na bardzo, bardzo masochistyczny plan samobójstwa. No ale czego się nie robi dla historycznej poprawności.</div><div><br /></div><div>Considering my allergy the sole idea of sleeping on a feather-stuffed pillow sounds like a suicide. The idea of actually making and stuffing such a pillow with own hands sounds like a very, very masochistic suicide plan. But yet, what is not done for historical accuracy?</div><div><br /></div><div>Na samym wstępie bardzo sobie pogratulowałam pomysłu, żeby zamknąć się z tym workiem pierza (oraz uszytą z burego, ale ciasno tkanego lnu poszewką) w łazience, uprzednio nałykawszy się prochów antyhistaminowych, wapna i wszystkiego, co tam jeszcze było w aptece. Ale i tak po jakimś kwadransie sama wyglądałam jak źle oskubana gęś, a moje drogi oddechowe stanowczo protestowały przeciwko dalszemu posiadaniu takiej użytkowniczki.</div><div><br /></div><div>At the beginning I was happy with the idea to do that (stuffing a cushion of natural, grey linen with feathers) in bathroom. And before that I had taken all the antihistamine pills one can find in pharmacy. Anyway, after a quarter, I looked like a badly plucked goose myself. And my lungs cried for a new and wiser owner.</div><div><br /></div><div>Po kolejnym kwadransie poszewka z burego lnu była już wypchana i zaszyta. I trzeci. I w końcu przestały wychodzić. </div><div>No i ostatni, najłatwiejszy etap - załadowanie burego lnianego worka wypchanego pierzem w ładną medievalną poszewkę zgodną z ikonografią.</div><div>Voila.</div><div>After another quarter however, the grey linen cushion was well stuffed and sewn. In between sewing it turn out that the feathers are slipping out, so I doubled the seams.
